Energy-Efficient Construction with Integrated Approach

Opportunities for Energy Efficiency and Conservation of Resources

On 22nd of May 2017, Jan O. Weisel – management member of Dr. Schönheit + Partner Engineering – lectured on the topic “Integrated: No end in itself but additional value for the customer” during a meeting of project leaders. The event was part of the research initiative ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN of the Federal Ministry for Economy and Energy and took place at the University of Lüneburg.

The energy revolution will come. Up to 2025, 40 to 45 percent of energy shall be obtained from renewable sources, until the year 2050 even at least 80 percent. In order to achieve the goals which have been set, there must be an energy turnaround within the buildings as well. The future belongs to energy sufficient and sustainable construction.

Integrated planning, construction and operation serve as success factors for building projects especially in times of vertical specialization and horizontal networking. It helps to simplify processes and to reduce costs. Furthermore it provides special opportunities to identify and exploit the potentials for energy efficiency and conservation of resources.

The integrated approach leads to success and creates value for the customer. This is confirmed by a great variety of S + P references, including for instance an energy relevant project together with Hartmann AG, which was awarded with the innovation “Querdenker-Prize”.
